How to compare the full cost of weight-loss treatment
THE SHORT ANSWER
Compare the full cost for the same period of care. Add product charges, required clinical fees, shipping, and any required testing. Then check the refill schedule and introductory-offer terms. A low headline price may describe only one part of the expense.

Start with a total-cost worksheet
Use a separate column for each service you are comparing. Record the exact product and stated supply period first, then list the charges below. Mark an unknown fee as “not confirmed” rather than treating it as zero.
Keep first-order and ongoing costs separate. This makes a one-time consultation fee visible without suggesting it repeats every month, and prevents an introductory discount from hiding the later price.
- Product price and stated supply period.
- Initial clinical review and any required follow-up fees.
- Shipping and supplies, if charged separately.
- Required testing or monitoring, if applicable.
- Introductory price, subsequent price, and cancellation terms.
Monthly and every four weeks are different schedules
A four-week cycle is 28 days. Thirteen such cycles cover 364 days, while twelve calendar-month charges cover a year. If a provider quotes a price per cycle, ask which schedule applies before multiplying by twelve.
For illustration, a hypothetical $100 price charged every four weeks would total $1,300 over thirteen cycles. A hypothetical $100 calendar-month charge would total $1,200 over twelve months. Neither example includes other fees or predicts the treatment schedule a clinician would prescribe.
A vial’s listed quantity alone does not establish how long it will last for a particular person. Use the provider’s confirmed supply information and prescription-specific instructions. Do not calculate your own dosing to make a price comparison work.
Which separate charges should you check at Toven?
Toven’s order policy currently lists $30 standard shipping on the initial order, with free standard shipping when the product subtotal reaches $300 after discounts. It also identifies a separate initial $20 doctor’s prescription review fee paid to the clinical provider. Product prices appear on the catalog and product pages.
Those details are a snapshot of the policy on this guide’s publication date. Check the current cart and policy before paying. Additional clinical or renewal charges need to be confirmed for the proposed care arrangement.
Read what Subscribe & save actually starts
At Toven’s current manual launch, the displayed subscription price applies to the initial requested order and records a preference for ongoing care. It does not create automatic recurring billing. Each refill requires the applicable renewal review and a separate payment.
When comparing any subscription offer, write down what happens next without relying on the button label. Ask whether billing renews automatically, whether clinical approval is needed for each refill, and whether there is a minimum commitment. Keep a copy of the terms you accept.
Include the cost of a plan you can actually use
An attractive price is less useful if you cannot identify the contact for a delayed order or an unanswered medical question. Add a notes row to your worksheet for support, the prescribing process, and the dispensing pharmacy.
FDA’s BeSafeRx guidance recommends checking that an online pharmacy requires a prescription, is appropriately licensed, provides a U.S. address, and has a pharmacist available for questions. Price comparison should sit alongside those checks.
Finally, compare what happens if treatment is not approved or you decide not to proceed. Product refunds and clinical-service fees may have different terms. Review them before placing the order rather than assuming the entire amount is handled the same way.

Common questions
Is the advertised product price always the total?
No. Check whether clinical review, shipping, supplies, testing, or follow-up are separate.
Does a subscription preference at Toven start automatic charges?
Under the current manual-launch policy, it does not. Refills require review and a separate payment. Check the current terms before ordering.
